Herb Mroz
Coach
Herb has an extensive history in athletics, as a 3-sport athlete at Fort Cherry (football, wrestling, baseball) for 12 years and playing tight end for the Grove City College Wolverines for 4 years. A large part of the time spent training for those sports included extensive time in the weight room and conditioning after practices, which is what initially drew him to CrossFit in the first place.
Herb is a Level 1 Certified CrossFit Coach. His additional coaching experience includes coaching youth football for Fort Cherry for 2 years (2 title appearances, 1 championship) and 3 years assistant coaching varsity wrestling with his brother/head coach, Kevin, for Central Valley High School. This includes building Central Valley’s wrestling program from 4 varsity wrestlers in his first year to 10 wrestlers in his 3rd year (multiple regional and state appearances).
He lives in Plum with his wife Allison and cats Ghost and Selina. His work experience includes design of industrial heating and cooling systems and he is currently working as a frontend developer for Thoughtful. His hobbies include playing golf, watching football, doing yard work, and competing against Knox for cutest gym rat (he doesn’t stand a chance and he knows it).
